    Multibox wants to help you understand how storage works so that you can have a great self-storage experience. Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions.

    What are your prices?

    Our monthly rates vary by facility and depending upon the storage unit size you select. Please contact us by email on info@multibox.mu for an estimate.

     

    When can I access my storage unit?

    Our facilities at Forbach and Bambous offer 24-hour access, seven days a week.

    Our Bagatelle facility can be accessed Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm, and on Saturday from 8am to 2pm. The site is closed on Sundays and on public holidays. If you require access to your unit outside of these working hours, please contact the facility’s management.

     

    What kind of security do you offer?

    Multibox self-storage premises are monitored by CCTV and patrolled by security guards 24 hours a day. The sites are well lit and equipped with security fences and gated entryways. You are responsible for securing your unit with your own padlock. 

     

    What kind of documentation do I need to provide in order to rent a storage unit?

    To establish a storage agreement with you, we will need:

    • For private hire: Your Mauritian national ID card or passport;
    • For business hire: Written approval from a company director, a Business Registration Number (BRN) and a VAT number.

     

    Who is allowed access to your  storage facilities?

    Our security personnel control access to our storage facilities. Only those with whom we have a storage agreement or who have been given permission to access a unit are allowed onto our sites. If you wish to authorise a third party to access your unit, you must list this person on your storage agreement.

     

    What happens when I want to move my items out of my storage unit?

    You will need to ensure that you provide at least one (1) month’s notice in advance of your actual move-out date, and that this is received and acknowledged by our staff. Notice must be given in writing, by e-mail, by post or in person.

     

    Can I buy boxes and other packing material from Multibox?

    A wide variety of boxes and packing supplies are available for purchase at Multibox. Please see our “Removal services & packing supplies” page. You do not need to be a storage customer to buy supplies from us.

     

    Do you offer packing and removal services?

    We can refer you to moving and packing companies that offer reasonable rates. We regret that we cannot offer any warranties, implied or actual, regarding services provided by a third party.

     

    Do my stored goods need to be insured?

    You are solely responsible for the items that you store at Multibox. It is mandatory that you take out insurance for them. You are of course free to purchase the insurance of your choice, but if you need any help, we offer a range of affordable policies via our partners, the Mauritian union General Insurance.

     

    What does the insurance cover?

    The insurance provided by Multibox via the Mauritian union covers fire, floods, burglary and cyclones, but does NOT cover loss or damage caused by pests or vermin, spillage of any material from any other space or climatic conditions such as rust or mildew.

     

    What are the terms of the storage lease?

    Our units are hired out on a month-by-month basis, with a minimum rental period of one month. Your storage lease with us can be as long or as short as you need - there is no long-term commitment. Your rent is due promptly at the beginning of each month. We also offer discounts for long-term storage agreements - please contact us for more information.

     

    What are my payment options?

    Monthly payments must be made by standing order. When you first check in, we can take payments made by cash or cheque. We regret that we do not accept credit cards.

     

    What if I am late making my payment?

    For every 30-day period that your payment is late, we charge an MUR 500 late payment fee. Please make sure to pay your rent on time.

     

    What are the climatic conditions in the containers?

    Our storage units are watertight and well ventilated to prevent overheating and the accumulation of moisture. Your goods are safe with us!
